COME HEAR THE MUSIC PLAY AT LIFE IS A CABARET, OCTOBER 21, 2023
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (October 5, 2023): Pop the bubbly and sing along to your favorite show tunes at the Cabaret! The Choir School of Delaware presents Life is a Cabaret at The Village of St John, Wilmington, DE on October 21 at 7:30pm.
This lighthearted affair features solo, small-group, and ensemble vocal numbers performed by the intergenerational singers of the Choir School. “Life is a Cabaret is a unique chance to see our singers shine as soloists,” says Brittney Stanton, Director of Operations and Music. “Our students, ages 7-18, and their adult singing mentors will take turns in the spotlight. The talent of our youngest singers will blow you away, and the solos by our adult singers, who perform in professional theater productions across the region, are not to be missed.”
Musical selections span beloved shows including The Color Purple, In the Heights, The Addams Family, Candide, A Chorus Line, Songs for a New World, and more. Popular twentieth-century songs from The Great American Songbook, including “Stand By Me,” will round out the setlist.
A cash bar and light refreshments will be offered. A raffle of gift cards and event tickets will round out the evening, with exciting prizes donated by local businesses. Funds raised from the raffle, cash bar, and ticket sales will support the Choir School’s afterschool program, which connects Delaware kids to transformative music and mentoring while supporting families with affordable, reliable afterschool care.
Tickets are on sale now at choirschoolofdelaware.org and at 302-543-8657 x4. Standard tickets are $25 and children under 18 attend for free. Discounts are available for seniors, college students, and military service members. Advance reservations are recommended.
Life is a Cabaret is the first concert of the Choir School’s Greatest Hits Concert Season, which is generously sponsored by the TD Charitable Foundation.
