The Choir School and Winterthur join forces for an evening of music, history and legendary fashion. Choral works commissioned by, or on behalf of, the British Monarchy will follow a lecture from famed composer Philip Stopford on the relationship between music and the crown. He will also discuss growing up as a chorister in the Westminster Abbey Choir School, a model upon which the Choir School was based.
Opportunities to tour Winterthur’s Costuming THE CROWN exhibit will also be available. The exhibit features 40 iconic fashions from the Emmy® award winning Netflix series THE CROWN, a dramatized history of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, and explores the elegance and style of a bygone era alongside our own English choral tradition.
This program is funded by a grant from Delaware Humanities, a state program of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
