    Board Matching Gift Challenge 2023

Give by September 30, 2023 to Double Your Impact!

Join us in starting the school year strong with a $20,000 Matching Gift Challenge! Any gifts received before September 30, 2023 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Board of Directors, up to $20,000. Together, we hope to raise $40,000 that will go directly towards securing bright futures for every child in the Choir School family.

This is a fantastic time to make your gift to the Choir School because the power of your dollar will be doubled. With the start of school right around the corner, your support is more vital than ever. This year, we have served over 150 children in our summer camps and after-school programs, most of whom live at or below the poverty line. Help us ensure that these children and their families have access to affordable mentoring, music education, childcare, social services, and a safe, affirming community in the months and years to come.

You have seen the impact of the Choir School’s transformative music and mentoring programs in our powerful performances, the testimonies of our children and families, and the successes of our alumni. We hope that you will make a gift by September 30 to ensure the Choir School continues to make a profound impact in the lives of these children.  Please know that contributions of any size have a huge impact!

Together, we can do it! Thank you for ensuring bright futures for our choristers!

    With excitement,

    Reasons to Give:

“When I opened my mouth to sing for the Choir School for the first time, my nerves would not allow me to make a sound. About seven years later, I was on my way to Rowan University with a full-tuition scholarship for Vocal Music Education. Through the power of music, the Choir School has impacted the lives of so many young children in Delaware.”
    – Tim Hurtt, Choir School Class of 2019, currently working on a Master’s in Vocal Performance at Temple University

“I started doing camp because my mom was like ‘Okay, these kids have got to get out of the house!’ Once we started and I saw the choreographers, I was like, ‘Woah, this is a big thing!’ And once I got into it, I just got really excited and it got me thinking, ‘Hey, I could actually do this for a living!’ Now I’m inside of a casting call agency.”
    – Jackson, rising 5th grader at time of interview (Summer 2022), now starring as Young Simba in The Lion King National Tour

“The fact that the Choir School camp is free is a true blessing. I’ve seen other camps in this area that will charge an arm and a leg for kids to just be in the ensemble. There’s so much talent out there, and you lose so many good kids when you charge so much money. I feel like a child’s talent and experience should not be compromised just because they don’t have the money.”
    – Autumn, recent high school graduate at time of interview (Summer 2022), currently studying Musical Theater at Temple University

“At this camp, I can get my learning and academics in and I can also get the things that I love in. And I really love it here. Even though it’s my first year here, it has been the best year. I already feel like this is my family and like I can connect with people. I’ve found a lot of friendships.”
    – Eli, rising 6th grader in Summer 2023, star of The Addams Family
