Future Leaders Fusion Summer Camp
Join the Choir School of Delaware in the heart of Wilmington, DE for a creative, academic, and joyful experience. Your child will have access to workshops led by professionals from TEACH21 and EDGE. Each day will include activities with reading, STEAM, social justice curriculums, and physical education.

*All students from Claymont Elementary and Mount Pleasant Elementary attend the Future Leader Fusion Summer Camp for free through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program. Funding for the Nita M. Lowrey 21st Century Community Learning Centers program is provided by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the Delaware Department of Education.
Teach21 Enrichment, Inc. provides holistic student and community support through a network of resources and programs. Their goal is to educate, inspire, and develop children of today to become unified leaders of the future by instilling our four principles: Community Awareness, Excellence, Literacy, and Accelerated Success. The Vision of Teach21 is to build up a community of excellence, starting with our children. Our mission and vision will be successfully implemented through our theme “UNITY” enriching staff, families, children & community.
Field Trips
Field Trips take three times throughout the 5-week program. This year’s field trips will take us to Rehoboth Beach, a field day at New Castle Battery Park, and seeing a regional theatre professional production!

Auditions are not required for camp enrollment. All campers will automatically be members of the show ensemble.
An audition is only required if you wish to be considered for leading roles within the showcase, the Young Artist Program, and/or summer camp counselor positions.

At your audition, please be ready to:
- Sing a prepared Musical Theater and/or Pop Song
- The Choir School will provide an accompanist.
- Participate in a cold read of a poem
- A cold read is when an actor reads aloud from a script with no practice or study in advance.
- The Choir School will provide the text during your audition.
- Sing some simple vocal exercises to demonstrate your range.
- Discuss your interest in the camp and any prior theater experience.
Note: We understand that summer is a busy time for families and you may have vacations scheduled. Please know that your/your child’s availability may impact how you are cast in the show. Attendance at daily rehearsals is important for everyone, but it is especially critical for lead and key supporting roles.
Become a Young Artist this Summer!
The Young Artists Program at the Choir School of Delaware is an opportunity for high school and early college aged students with an interest in performing arts careers to develop their performance and teaching skills while networking with their peers. Young Artists will serve as leaders in our summer production of a CABARET SHOWCASE.
All local teen artists who are considering careers in theater, music, and/or dance are strongly encouraged to apply.

Young Artists will Receive:
- Opportunities for musical theater performance in The Choir School Cabaret SHOWCASE
- Private instruction and coachings from respected musical theater professionals
- Mentorship and workshops to prepare for auditions
- Courses focused on college and career readiness in the arts
- Hands-on leadership opportunities
- Resume writing workshops
Job Duties:
- Participate in all Musical Theater Summer Camp programming, including rehearsal and performance of Cabaret SHOWCASE
- Be a leader to all campers in your participation, focus, and attitude
- Assist with leadership of workshops and classes
- Assist with tasks around camp, including room setup and supervision of younger campers
- Serve as a junior camp counselor and group leader during Friday field trips
- Other duties as assigned by faculty
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be 14 years of age or older
- Must be in high school or a 2023 grad
- Must reside in Delaware
- Must have open availability during camp hours
- Must have a desire to sing, dance, and act
- Must have a 2.0 GPA (C average) or higher
- An interest in pursuing a career in the performing arts is a plus
- Prior experience in musical theater productions is a plus, but not required
BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) artists are strongly encouraged to apply.
